See these cookies?
I hate them.
I don't like baking but I like the idea of baking. Therefore, I own fancy baking tools and ingredients but I hate the actual process of baking.
With cooking you finish a dish and you're done! Woot! Commence eating!
With baking you finish a batch of cookies and....you have to put another batch in the oven...and another...and another...
It's 9PM. I started these cookies at 6PM.
3 hours for 21 cookies! (Truthfully, an hour of that was spent at Canadian Tire while the dough chilled)
3 hours for 42 cookies actually:
See?
Freaking sandwich cookies. 2 cookies and a tablespoon of jam per person. 21 times.
Want to know the worst part?
I need 30 cookies. Guess I start all over again tomorrow.

they look delish! I can't believe you didn't get enough cookies out of the recipe. Look on the brightside...leftoversÜ
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the "I need 30" comment. I for some insane reason volunteered to make cookies for two classes. I need to make @ 55 cookies. While your cookies are adorable, I'm going to make plain heart cookies.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason I didn't get enough cookies is that my cookie cutters are huge! Next time (if there is a next time!) I'll use smaller cutters.
ReplyDeleteOh, these look devine! TFS! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteMarie
I think they look delicious and I hope the recipients will appreciate your hard work.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look delicious and so cute. I know what you mean though about the difference between cooking and baking. With baking it doesn't seem like the end is ever in sight.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on liking the idea better than the actual process.
ReplyDeleteThose big cookie cutters look better in the store, but smaller cookies are easier to eat!
They are beautiful, though.
